MotoGP, 2024 brings a new chapter for team LCR

18 feb 2024

Lucio Cecchinello’s Team LCR dates back to 1996. The squad then entered MotoGP in 2006 and continues to compete in the reigning class today. Hopes are high as the new season approaches, thanks also to favourable concessions.

A challenging new season for LCR

2024 will be Team LCR’s nineteenth season in MotoGP, a significant number that tells of all the experience, passion, and sacrifice. This is a year of revolution for Honda, which has made changes to its internal structure and modified the bike, with Cecchinello admitting: “Every year we need to work harder, and stronger, to be competitive. We’re competing in the most challenging and competitive motorcycle category after all".

With Zarco and Nakagami to get back on top

The season is yet to begin but there’s already a different feeling in the air, a sense of something special, and the team owner is confident when he says: "We’re ready to open a new chapter in our motorcycling history”. As for the rider line-up, the team welcomes experienced rider Johann Zarco and reconfirms Japanese rider Takaaki Nakagami.

Zarco has spent the last four years riding a Ducati and can bring very important information. Nakagami hopes to win his first race in the top class, with his reassuring presence and hard work on a bike he knows very well. Another year is about to begin then, with important goals and high hopes: "Castrol, all the sponsors and Honda are very focused on achieving the best ever result.”
