MotoGP, Superbike and MX: Ducati presents its 2024 teams

22 gen 2024

For the second consecutive year, the enchanting snow-capped Dolomites served as a backdrop for the official presentation of the Ducati Lenovo Team, as it unveiled the liveries of the Desmosedici GP machines with which it will officially participate in the 2024 MotoGP World Championship. The livery, predominantly Ducati Red, features a fluorescent graphic detail that recalls the curve in the Ducati logo. This design element is also present on the fairings of the Panigale V4 R Superbike of the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati team and on the new motocross bikes of the Ducati Corse R&D – Factory MX Team, which were unveiled on stage alongside the MotoGP bikes.

In 2024, two-time world champion, Pecco Bagnaia, will set out to defend his title and score a third consecutive win. It will also be important year for Enea Bastianini, who seeks to make up for a 2023 that was conditioned by injury. The presentation, held at the "Campioni in Pista" event organized by Ducati in collaboration with Trentino Marketing and the Azienda per il Turismo Madonna di Campiglio, also starred two-time Superbike champion Alvaro Bautista and his new team-mate, Niccolò Bulega. The new Ducati Corse Sporting Director, Mauro Grassilli, was officially introduced during the event while Paolo Ciabatti, the new General Manager of Ducati Corse Off-Road Division, took to the stage to present the new Ducati motocross bikes, entrusted to nine-time Motocross World Champion Tony Cairoli and Alessandro Lupino.

In the words of Gigi Dall'Igna: "2023 an unforgettable year"

Luigi Dall'Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse, is satisfied heading into a 2024 season that comes on the back of a two-year period in which the Borgo Panigale manufacturer has been able to dominate in both MotoGP and Superbike: “2023 was truly an unforgettable year, and now we're here to kick off the new season and embrace the challenges that lie ahead in 2024. In MotoGP, the Ducati Lenovo Team will feature World Champion Pecco Bagnaia alongside Enea Bastianini again. Unfortunately, Bastianini couldn't showcase his full potential last year due to numerous injuries, but we are optimistic about his performance this season. In Superbike, the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati team, led by Alvaro Bautista on the Panigale V4 R with the number 1, will also field the reigning Supersport World Champion, Nicolò Bulega, who is making his debut in the category. We couldn't have asked for a better lineup to face the challenges of this intense 2024 season in both World Championships. We are aware that the other constructors are working hard, and I anticipate an even higher level of competition. However, I am confident that, thanks to the dedication of the Ducati Corse team during this short winter break, we will be well-prepared to defend the titles we earned last season."

Pecco Bagnaia praises the GP24

MotoGP World Champion, Pecco Bagnaia, approves of his new bike, in terms of both its aesthetics and performance, the initial test at Valencia after the final 2023 race having proved very positive: "I'm thrilled to kick off my fourth season with the Ducati Lenovo Team. The last test in Valencia provided positive feedback, giving us a solid foundation for the upcoming season's development work. I'm eager to hit the track and pick up where we left off. It's bound to be a challenging season, but we're ready to face it with our usual determination. As a close-knit team, we'll give our best to aim for the championship once again."

Team-mate Enea Bastianini adds: "2023 was a challenging year, and I look forward to redeeming myself in the upcoming season. We have an exciting 2024 ahead of us. Despite participating in only a few Grand Prix last year, I've learned valuable lessons that I'll carry into the new season. I have great confidence in my team, and I know we have all the potential to do well. I can't wait to hit the track and start the new season."

Alvaro Bautista seeks a third world title

The Aruba team lines up for the 2024 Superbike season with a rider of the caliber and experience of Alvaro Bautista, the current reference in the production-derived series, but also with a new-entry, in the shape of current Supersport champion, Niccolò Bulega. Alvaro comments: "It is a big satisfaction to be back in a beautiful place like Madonna di Campiglio to present the bikes with which we will face a 2024 championship that will be extremely challenging, with so many changes both in terms of technical regulations and in terms of competitors. We will immediately have to work hard to adapt to the new rules, but I believe that in any case, it will be a very enjoyable season. The goal is to reach our maximum potential as soon as possible so that we can then have fun in every round. There will also be changes in the garage with a new team-mate.”

Italian rider Bulega has this to say: "I am very happy to have had the privilege of taking part in this ceremony. I remember very well when as a child I used to follow the Ducati team presentation in Madonna di Campiglio: being now among the protagonists of this event fills me with pride.  I thank the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati team for believing in me and giving me the chance to ride this Panigale V4R that I find beautiful. Let me make a joke: usually, when a bike is beautiful it must also go fast. That's why we have high expectations for this season. I'm sure we can do well. The package we have is excellent, I'm very excited and I'll try to give my best right from the start”.
