Pre-Christmas testing for Honda and Bradl at Jerez

22 dic 2023

The sun was shining at Jerez, despite the December date. This meant that track conditions were good for HRC test rider Stefan Bradl as he got to work with the Repsol technicians in order to better understand the updates made to the RC213 V.

Honda and Bradl at Jerez: how is this RC213 V?

Those involved refer to it as a ‘work in progress’. We already saw the Japanese four-cylinder at Valencia, and it has been back in action this week at the Angel Nieto circuit, an ideal track for development.

We remind you that Honda and its riders will benefit from the Concessions approved by Dorna, FIM and MSMA, able to make modifications during the course of the championship. But will this be enough to keep pace with Ducati?! Management hopes so, as do the sponsors and fans.

Honda technicians hit the books, the 2024 season just around the corner

The sessions were all about learning, as the technicians focused on the Honda RC213 V and its various settings. There’s a lot to do and a whole host of possible interventions, what with the electronics, engine, gearing, aerodynamics, suspension, frame, brakes, and tyres.

The Repsol HRC team worked hard at Jerez, well aware that the 2024 season is just around the corner. Yes, because the year is almost over and, with scheduled tests in both Sepang and Qatar, there will be little time to rest. With twenty-two rounds on the calendar and additional development tests, the upcoming season will be particularly full-on.
