The crash that resulted from a move by Deniz Oncu could have had much more serious consequences for Andrea Migno, Pedro Acosta and Jeremy Alcoba, all involved along with the Turk in the incident that marked the Moto3 race at Austin.

And it was Alcoba who was in the greatest danger as, after being hit by Oncu’s wheel, the Spaniard risked being run over by Migno who was followed behind at high speed.

Alcoba: “There were so many bikes behind me”

No injuries, luckily, just a sense of dread, which the Gresini Racing rider talks about with DAZN: "When I crashed after the contact, I was scared out of my wits. While down on the asphalt I was thinking about everything that has happened in these last few weeks, seeing as I was sixth and there were so many bikes behind me that could have gone over me” comments Alcoba thinking back to the recent tragedy involving Dean Berta Viñales.

“None of the riders involved were hurt, but that was sheer luck", concludes the Spaniard.
