It’s a special day for the entire SKY Racing team VR46, doubly special in fact, as Valentino Rossi turns 42 on the same day as team SKY presents its Moto2 and MotoGP line-ups for 2021. The two riders in the intermediate class are the reconfirmed Marco Bezzecchi and rookie Celestino Vietti Ramus, without forgetting Luca Marini, who will compete in MotoGP with the Esponsorama/VR46 team.

The unveiling

A real celebration then, as the three riders taking part in the team SKY presentation revealed the bikes with which they will compete this season. The colours remain unchanged, blue standing out on black.

In the riders' words

First to speak was the SKY representative in the reigning class, Luca Marini: “It’s a big jump, and I’m pleased to make it wearing these colours. It will be an important year that I’ll never forget, it marks an important point. I’m focusing on my preparation and will do everything I can to be fast as soon as possible. The bike looks amazing and I’m sure it will be fast on track too. The work done with the Academy pushes us beyond our limits and has allowed us to be here with the best in the world”.

As for the Moto2 riders, and despite the different challenges they face, both Bezzecchi and Vietti Ramus are ready to race: “The level will be very high, but we have the potential – comments MarcoIt’s a real honour to be part of Vale’s team and this is what makes me most proud. Celestino and I have been friends forever, we’re close, it’s going to be great. He’s strong and I hope to have some great races with him”.

The greatest pair in the world

And Marco’s team-mate Celestino Vietti Ramus continues in a similar vein: “I hope the Moto2 suits me. I was one of the tallest in Moto3 and struggled. The technical level of the team is very high and I hope I can learn a lot from them. My relationship with Bez is great, he’s proved to be fast and I can learn a lot from him too, but I’d also like to help him if I have the chance”.
