It’s now official and Andrea Iannone is ready for a comeback. After a four-year absence owing to a ban for doping, one of the most talented riders of his generation is set to return to the tracks, embarking on a new adventure in Superbike.

A new adventure that the Italian will take on with team Go Eleven, a squad that has taken giant steps on the SBK grid in recent years, winning its first race in 2020, with Michael Rinaldi, and then continuing to grow in subsequent seasons with Chaz Davies and Philipp Oettl.

The Italian team now takes another step up in quality, and will be able to count on a rider who has fourteen MotoGP wins to his name and is more than keen to prove himself once and for all. The agreement between the parties is for one year, with an option for 2025, with Iannone set to get his first taste of the Panigale V4R during the Jerez tests immediately after the final round of the season.

Initial remarks from Iannone and Ramello

“I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment, comments Iannone, “and am finally returning to the track, where I’ve spent my whole life. I want to thank Gigi Dall’Igna, Paolo Ciabatti, Claudio Domenicali, Marco Zambenedetti and the whole Go Eleven team for their trust. With their support, I’ve found that enthusiasm I had as a child again. Special thanks also go to the SBK family for the opportunity. I can’t wait.”

“Right from the start, GoEleven has strived to achieve increasingly important result” adds Team Principal Gianni Ramello, “and in switching to Ducati we’ve moved closer to our goal. Despite being a private team, we’ve won a race, scored numerous podiums and won an Independent Team title, giving internationally renowned riders the chance to fight with us and achieve excellent results, proof that our team has done a great job. We now find ourselves taking another step to achieve another goal. A rider like Andrea has not just proved to be fast and talented, but he’s also a public figure who generates significant interest”.

“We’ll work hard to reach the positions that count. We want to demonstrate that we’ve taken this decision because we believe in the rider’s potential”, concludes Ramello, “and we’re sure he’ll give it his all to achieve strong results.”
