This morning we learned that Randy Krummenacher and CM Racing – the team with which the Swiss rider competed in four of the 2021 Supersport rounds, standing in for injured Luca Bernardi and even powering the Yamaha R6 to a win at Barcelona – will not continue on together next year, contrary to a previous announcement.

But the 2019 world champion wants to clarify the situation: "I’m truly very sorry – he comments – but there has been no kind of separation or divorce between me and CM Racing. We simply didn’t come to an agreement. There’s been no split".

The 31-year old continues: "It’s one thing to say a contract has been broken, but quite another to say that it was never signed. And that is what happened in my case. Time passed between the pre-announcement and the actual stipulation of the contract and once I’d read all the terms, I decided not to accept".

Krummenacher: "I race to give it my all for my partners and sponsors"

We were keen to see Randy aboard the Ducati Panigale twin but no one is more disappointed than the rider himself: "I repeat, I’m disappointed, but it’s only right that I listen to my head and heart, putting other things aside. I get on the bike and am a professional, and always will be. I don’t know how to be anything else”.

Krummenacher has good things to say about the team with which he won at Barcelona: "The contract included conditions that I wasn’t comfortable with, but I want to avoid any controversy because I’m keen to maintain a great relationship with the CM staff. I hope they score great results, I really do, knowing how good they are. I’m not splitting from them but simply seeking the right solution for me".

The Swiss rider wants to race to the best of his ability: “Precisely because I want those working with me to feel comfortable, and me with them. I wouldn’t have been mentally at ease going out on track and that wouldn’t be fair to my partners and sponsors. I race to give it my all and, in order to do so, I need to be sure about every aspect of the contract. If I had signed, I wouldn’t have been honest with the team or myself".
