The International Motorcycling Federation has created the International Foundation for Motorcycling (IFM), which aims to promote and support international motorcycle development and the interests of the international motorcycle community.

The goals


According to a communication issued by the FIM, the Foundation will focus on promoting road safety and mobility programmes, training courses, environmental protection, the presence of women in sports structures, and the social and historical heritage of the FIM and motorcycling.

The foundation’s constitutive act was signed on 30 November by FIM president Jorge Viegas (in the centre of the photo) and FIM Deputy Chief Executive Officer Françoise Emery (left), in the present of Swiss notary Françoise Demierre Morand (right), in the Gampert Demierre Moreno notary office in Geneva, Switzerland.

The foundation’s board members are: Jorge Viegas, FIM and IFM president, Martin De Graaff, President of FIM Europe, Tony Skillington, CEO of FIM, Guy Maitre, an FIM legend and former CEO of the FIM and, last but not least, fifteen-time world champion Giacomo Agostini.

The International Foundation for Motorcycling’s first board meeting will take place on 30 January 2021.
