The 2023 MotoGP season will kick off at Portimão on 24-26 March and now, a few days after that announcement, we have the dates for pre-season testing. The action will get underway in Malaysia, at the traditional circuit of Sepang, where category rookies and test riders will take part in a shakedown. These sessions will run from 5 to 7 February, after which all the other riders making up next year’s grid will take to the track from 10 to 12 February.
From Malaysia to Portugal, for the final pre-season test
The second pre-season session will play out the following month at the Portuguese circuit of Portimão. The riders will have two days - 11-12 March - in which to prepare for the opening race weekend.
The Moto3 and Moto2 riders will then take to the same track from 17 to 19 March, just before the curtains go up on the 2023 championship.
