This weekend, Valentino Rossi will not be in Germany for the final act of the first half of the MotoGP season. Instead, the "Doctor" will be in England at Goodwood for the historic festival. This marks a return for the Italian, who previously did an exhibition lap back in 2015 aboard a Yamaha M1. Now a BMW factory driver, Rossi will get behind the wheel of one of the cars that shaped the history of endurance racing.

Valentino Rossi will take center stage on Friday thanks to sponsor Monster Energy, which, for the occasion, has teamed up with BMW Classic to organize a truly unique event.

Rossi will tackle the famous hillclimb aboard a V12 LMR, the prototype that won the 1999 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Pierluigi Martini, Yannick Dalmas, and Joachim Winkelhock. As announced by the manufacturer on its social media channels, the prototype will feature a matte black livery and sport his iconic number 46.
