Anthony Gobert loses his fight: his mother posts on social media

We are very sorry to have to announce the death of Anthony Gobert, a rider and man as loved in SBK and 500 as he was in difficulty during his final years. Anthony’s passing follows a period of hospitalisation, with his mother Suzanne confirming his death on social media earlier today, a post that has since been shared by Anthony’s brother Aaron. Our thoughts are with the family at this time.

His mother’s words are published here below. Those who knew Anthony will all agree on one thing, as Suzanne says: "He always had a kind heart and cared for everyone. I am so proud of him”.

Gobert, 48, was born on 5 March 1975. Throughout his career, a professional path that saw a series of highs and lows, the common consensus was that he was: "A true natural talent, phenomenal in his riding skill and instinct. Riders like him are rarely seen in Australia, or anywhere in the world in fact".
