The Italian makes his first laps, understandably tense yet keen to start this new chapter
Enthusiasm and a touch of nerves. This is how Andrea Iannone’s second life as a rider has begun, as he makes some first laps of the Jerez track – still damp in places unfortunately – and officially embarks on his adventure in Superbike.
At the centre of attention right from the off – we’d expect nothing less – the Italian sets out to find the right feeling, aware that he needs to take things one step at a time, and with a smile on his face. In the team Go Eleven garage is an Andrea who is lighthearted and easygoing, exactly what’s required in a family-run team like that of Gianni Ramello.
As things get underway, there is of course a certain seriousness and, as we’ve said, nerves, but it’s too soon to say any more. The good news is that one of motorcycling’s purest talents is finally back on track.
