Two-time Supersport champion Dominique Aegerter didn’t have an easy first outing in Superbike, with tricky conditions at the Jerez de la Frontera track for teams taking part in this 2023 pre-season test.

Aegerter’s initial comments

The Swiss rider put together 47 laps during this first outing with the GRT team’s R1, which only lasted a half day. Aegerter had this to say about his first session: We finished the first test day in wet conditions and only completed a half day. We did about 47 laps, all in the wet and in very windy conditions too. It wasn’t too cold, but conditions were strange. It’s difficult to have initial sensations and a first setting for this type of bike with conditions like this. We changed my seat position and got to grips with the electronics and controls.”

As for his first experience with his new team, he commented: “It was great to see the team for the first time and work with them, see how they operate and how I react to the modifications – it all went to plan. The main goal was to check everything was working and make small changes and provide some feedback, but we’d have liked to ride in the dry. In the wet, I need a little more speed through the turns, but this will come once I’ve lapped more and have more confidence with the bike. We’ll also make some changes to the electronics and settings.”
