Supersport is undergoing a period of great change, and it might not be over yet. While Dominique Aegerter continues to be the man to beat on track, one manufacturer is considering a return to the category, after a two-year absence.

We’re talking about Honda, keen to field the new – despite it having been officially launched in 2020 - CBR600RR that, despite adopting the technical base of the previous version, also presents some important new features, starting with ride by wire and winglets.

 Moriwaki seeks a partner

The armed wing when it comes to this project is Midori Moriwaki and hence team MIE, but they don’t want to go it alone and are already in talks with some of the category's heavyweights, Italian and otherwise.

For now, the first confirmation appears to be the name of one of the team’s two riders, or rather Japanese Yuta Okaya, currently competing in Supersport 300 and the race 1 winner at Barcelona, who is ready to make a step up in category alongside another yet-to-be-identified rider.
