WorldSBK, new rider for Pedercini: international debut for Ryan Vickers at Most

The BSB rider will compete in the world championship for the first time, riding the team Pedercini Kawasaki in place of Leon Haslam, who is preparing for the Suzuka 8 Hours

It’s all change for Pedercini Racing, which will line up for the Most WorldSBK round with young British rider Ryan Vickers. This will be a first appearance in the world championship for Vickers, who will race with a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR, a bike he knows well and with which he competed in the British series until last year.

The team headed up by Lucio Pedercini must do without Leon Haslam this weekend, as the “Pocket Rocket” is already preparing for the Suzuka 8 Hours, where he will race as part of the factory Kawasaki team with Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes.

Vickers and Hickman: both FHO Racing riders to race at Most

Ukranian rider Ilya Mikhalchik will also be at Suzuka, preparing for the most important race of the endurance season just like Haslam, and so he will be replaced on the factory BMW team by Peter Hickman. Both of Faye Ho’s FHO Racing riders, who normally compete on British soil, will therefore be on track at Most, proof that all teams hold the British series in high regard.

Vickers: “I’ll enjoy the weekend, learning as much as possible”

Although not in perfect shape following a crash in race 2 at Brands Hatch last weekend, the 23-year old is understandably pleased to have this opportunity: "I’m really excited about this weekend, which will see me joining Team Pedercini Racing at Most. It’s always been a goal of mine to race in World Superbike and to get this little taste will be fantastic, so huge thanks to Lucio, Guim and everyone else who’s involved. Thanks also to Faye Ho for giving me this opportunity. I’ll enjoy the weekend and learn as much as I can from the experience.”
