The German manufacturer will field the new G310RR, opening a new era. A first team is already on board
The gateway class to Superbike, the Supersport300, is ready to welcome a new brand. After Yamaha, Kawasaki – the current champions – and KTM, the category is now ready to embrace the arrival of BMW, which is about to boost its commitment to the production-derived championship.
The German manufacturer will field the new G310RR, the creation of which is inspired by the lines of big sister M1000RR. The bike is ready to be unveiled to the public in the coming days. It will be interesting to see which teams will opt for the new arrival over the next few months, although there are a few certainties already.
One team currently racing with Yamaha has already put its R3 bikes up for sale, as it already has an agreement with the German manufacturer to race with the G310RR in 2023, in the hope of immediately scoring results. A new era is about to start for BMW then, and it’s all about the small engines.
