Cresson’s father: “Pedercini wanted more money in order to field Haslam”

Didier’s version: "We turned down Orelac over the winter, Lucio has stolen the bike and the sponsor’s money"

The Cresson case continues. The words of crew chief Massimiliano Nejrotti have not gone unnoticed by Didier Cresson, Loris’ father, who has chosen to respond and provide his version of the facts.

“We had a contract with team Pedercini”, begins Didier, “according to which Loris was meant to race for free, with a single contribution from a sponsor. This would have come if things had been in place, both technically and organisationally speaking but this was not the case at all and so all their complaints about missed payments are lies. The truth is that the team has actually stolen a bike, and we’ve gone to the police about this. Loris has raced with many teams in recent years and has never had any problems with anyone, until now”.

Didier Cresson: "The team should have paid Nejrotti, they had the budget for it"

What happened at Aragon?

“At Aragon, Loris was asked for more money, or rather his sponsor was asked, but Lucio (Pedercini) only wanted that money to buy a bike and the parts needed to field Haslam. All the parts he had in the garage up until then were bought with money from Loris’ sponsor, so as things stand, they’ve been stolen”.

What pushed you to continue with Pedercini after a first season together?

Over the winter, we received an offer from Orelac for the 2022 season, with similar conditions to the Pedercini offer. Loris preferred to stay with Lucio, who has now stolen the sponsor’s money and dropped Loris for no reason. They said Loris missed technical meetings and photo shoots but he was always there. The same can’t be said of others though. The day before the Aragon test Max hadn’t even arrived at the circuit, and the bike wasn’t anywhere near ready”.

What do you want to say in response to Loris’ former crew chief Nejrotti?

“The contract didn’t state that I would pay Max. I only told him that if the team wouldn’t pay him, then I would, because I appreciated his work as crew chief. The team had the budget to pay him, thanks to the sponsor, but didn’t do so.”
