WorldSSP, Verdoia unfit: Manzi to replace him at GMT94 in Jerez

Frenchman Andy, injured at Barcelona, is forced to rest. Current Moto2 rider Stefano will debut with the Yamaha team

Frenchman Andy Verdoia is forced to wave the white flag and will be replaced on the GMT94 team by Stefano Manzi. This is the latest Supersport news as the championship heads into its ninth round of the season. A special kind of rookie will therefore compete at Angel Nieto.

The Flexbox HP40 rider is a Moto2 regular, a class in which he competes with a Kalex frame and three-cylinder Triumph engine (the same for everyone). In coming to Christophe Guyot’s team, the Italian will climb aboard a production-derived, four-cylinder Yamaha R6. And he’ll also need to get used to Pirelli tyres, quite different to the Dunlops he knows.

For the VR46 Riders Academy member, it will be a great opportunity to have fun and, more importantly, to try and score a good result. He will flank Jules Cluzel, French like the rest of the team and currently lying sixth in the general standings.
