Rory Skinner’s Moto2 adventure with the American Racing team did not exactly go to plan, the Brit struggling to adapt to the intermediate class and finding himself without a ride after just one season. But 2024 brings another opportunity for the talented Scottish rider, who will return to British Superbike and race a BMW M 1000 RR fielded by team TAS Racing. And Skinner does not hide the fact that he is in it to win it.

The team headed up by Philip Neill will celebrate 25 years of racing this year and will flaunt a brand-new livery courtesy of new main sponsor, Cheshire Mouldings, but that’s not all. The team will also compete in the Superstock 1000 class and in the main road races with a rider of the caliber of Davey Todd, Stock champion in 2022 and a star turn in both the North West 200 and the Tourist Trophy.

Shenton to continue as Skinner’s crew chief

“I can’t wait to start working with the Cheshire Mouldings TAS Racing team, also because Philip Neill has given me a great squad”, comments an enthusiastic Skinner. I’m pleased to be able to count on Stuart Shenton as crew chief too; he was me in Moto2. Seeing the bike for myself, with its official new colours, makes me realise just how close the new season is now. It’s going to be a fantastic year and I’m pleased to be back racing in front of the British crowds”.
