The Honda Racing UK team will field just one rider at the 2023 Tourist Trophy. The Tokyo manufacturer’s team of reference will line up for the famous Isle of Man race with John McGuinness, having decided (in agreement with the rider) not to field a still convalescing Nathan Harrison.

The rising star, who hails from the Isle of Man and won the Manx Grand Prix in 2019, crashed during the Superstock race at the North West 200 and fractured both his right collarbone and left radius as well as suffering concussion. Although he has already undergone one surgery, Harrison has chosen not to push the recovery times and will remain ‘in the pits’ for the most important event of the year.

Harrison: “Better to be 100% fit, I don’t want to fight for 15th place”

“I am obviously absolutely gutted to be missing my first race for Honda Racing UK at the TT, but in reality, this is the best decision for my health and safety, and for my future career”, comments a clearly disappointed Nathan.

“If I rushed things then raced and caused further damage or went slow and finished outside of the top 15 I wouldn't be doing myself justice. I want to race at the TT 100% fit and healthy and achieve the results that I know I am capable of”, concludes Harrison, with one eye already on the next edition.
