The Italian has fractured his knee ligament while training and will assess his condition at Misano today
In less than a month's time, Danilo Petrucci will make his US debut aboard the Ducati Panigale V4R (in MotoAmerica configuration) of team Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati NYC, but his preparation for round one has now become more complicated than expected. After having fully recovered from a broken ankle bone in December, Danilo is now facing a new problem.
We are talking about a fracture to the collateral ligament of his left knee, sustained during an MX accident. Petrucci was training at the Montevarchi track roughly two weeks ago when he attempted to pass a slower rider (who made a risky move) and crashed as a result, sustaining the abovementioned fracture as well as a nasty burn to his left forearm.
An injury that is not to be underestimated, and one that Danilo will try to better understand today. The Italian is at Misano for a two-day test organised by the Aruba team and will head out on track to try to assess his physical condition.
All we can do for now is wait for updates and some initial impressions from Danilo, as well as all the other news from the Misano World Circuit.
