We have learned of the tragic passing of one of the greatest motorcycle stuntmen, German Chris Pfeiffer, who took his own life last weekend following a period of depression, which worsened in recent months.

Pfeiffer was known the world over for his feats. In 2010-2011 he toured India, with two lorries transporting his equipment over 12000 km, all over the country, where he was celebrated by more than 35,000 fans.

As reported by German website Speedweek.com, Pfeiffer’s funeral will take place at 9.30 on Saturday 26 March, in Trauchgau.

Chris Pfeiffer’s career

Few know that before becoming a stuntman to all intents and purposes, Pfeiffer was a trials rider who became junior champion in Germany at just 15. Three years later he won the OMK Cup, the “German championship” for riders with a B licence. In 1996, 1997, 2000 and 2004, the Schongau native won the Red Bull Hare Scramble in Eisenerz, one of the world’s toughest extreme enduro events.

In subsequent years, he focused solely on his activity as a stuntman, winning various titles and appearing at many important events, amazing one and all with his motorcycle acrobatics. Stunts that we will unfortunately no longer be able to witness.
