MotoGP, Espargarò’s Jab at Bezzecchi: "Martin's Title Rival is Marquez"

Aleix Espargaró continues to follow Aprilia's fortunes with particular attention. Despite having embarked on a new adventure as a Honda test rider and ambassador for the Lidl-Trek cycling team, the Spaniard remains deeply attached to the Noale-based manufacturer. It was with them that he wrote some of the most important chapters of his career—from his historic maiden MotoGP victory in Argentina in 2022 to playing a decisive role in the arrival of Jorge Martin. Unsurprisingly, then, he is fully cheering for his close friend, who currently leads the World Championship.

Aleix Espargarò: "Martin can become World Champion with Aprilia"

Interviewed by the Spanish website Motosan, Espargaró expressed his absolute satisfaction with the championship Martin has put together so far:

"I'm incredibly happy for Jorge. I believe that this year he has a great opportunity to achieve a goal that I wasn't able to reach, which is becoming world champion with Aprilia."

In his analysis of the title fight, Espargaró failed to mention Marco Bezzecchi among the championship contenders, despite the Italian rider holding second place in the standings—just seven points behind Martin—and being the most successful rider of the season so far with four victories in the first ten Grands Prix.
