Honda looks to change course, unable to count on the talents of Marc Marquez, the only rider able to ensure the RC213V was a consistent frontrunner this season. And the look to do so with Joan Mir and Luca Marini, who comes to the factory Honda twenty years after his brother Valentino Rossi vacated it. The bike brought to Valencia is a revolution with respect to that which Marquez rode on Sunday.

Change of crew chiefs

After eleven years of collaboration, Marc Marquez and Santi Hernandez part ways, with the former moving to Ducati Gresini, where he will work alongside Frankie Carchedi, who supported Fabio Di Giannantonio in 2023. Santi Hernandez will stay at Repsol but will switch sides, supporting Joan Mir who inherits the eight-time champ’s entire squad. Having worked with Valentino Rossi twenty years ago, Santi Hernandez will not work with Luca Marini, the rider instead supported by the team that this year flanked the 2020 world champion with Giacomo Guidotti.
