Miguel Oliveira was unable to complete even one lap of the Spanish GP, because the incident caused by Fabio Quartararo caused more serious injury to his left shoulder than first thought. The Portuguese rider has not only dislocated his shoulder but also fractured his humerus and injured a ligament, all of which means he cannot compete in the French GP.

The team RNF rider does not require any surgery but he will need to rest, with the aim of returning in time for the Italian GP at Mugello on 10-11 June. Taking his place for the fifth race of the season then is Lorenzo Savadori, the official Aprilia factory rider, who already rode the bike during the Jerez test on Monday 1 May.
