A time for celebrations, but also announcements at Rimini’s Palacongressi. The 2022 FIM Awards event recognised the achievements of world champions across the most important two-wheeled disciplines while also confirming the role of Jorge Viegas, the current President who was first elected in 2018 and is now confirmed for another four years.

Viegas continues at the FIM helm

Of the delegates that voted, 99% were in favour of Jorge. This means that the General Assembly, made up of representatives from the National Federations, was in almost unanimous agreement that Viegas should remain for another four-year term.

Clearly pleased, the re-elected President had this to say: “I am very grateful for the ongoing support I have received and for those federations who felt I deserved their vote. The last four years have been an amazing journey which was only made possible thanks to the incredible team who I have worked with. I can never express enough gratitude for their motivation, availability and friendship, they truly are my family. I must also thank the National Federations and the CONUs for the outstanding accomplishments that we have achieved together, through our shared goals, combined hard work and importantly great collaboration.”
