The accident occurred on Saturday on the CV-510 between Alzira and Corbera
Aron Canet has suffered a setback. The Spaniard, who currently races in the Moto2 world championship, was involved in a road accident on Saturday.
The FlexBox HP40 rider was aboard a Chevrolet Corvette on the CV-510 road between Alzira and Corbera and, as you can see in the images released by Spanish media sources, the car was completely destroyed.
According to Spanish website Motoracing Magazine, Canet suffered blows to the head and face, not particularly serious but enough to warrant transfer to the La Ribera hospital where the rider spent a night under observation.
In the hours following the accident, the 22-year old provided some more details: “Thanks for all the messages of support. Yesterday, I was in an accident while traveling as a passenger. Luckily, my girlfriend and I are fine. I'm in shock but have only suffered some bruising”, the Spaniard posts on social media, underlining the fact he has not sustained any serious injury.
A setback that comes at a delicate point of the season. Moto2 will be back on track in Germany in one week’s time and Canet needs to be ready to contain the damage with respect to championship leader Celestino Vietti.
Gracias a todos por los mensajes de apoyo. Ayer sufrí un accidente mientras iba de copiloto, afortunadamente mi novia y yo estamos bien, todo se ha quedado en unas magulladas y un gran susto.
