The structure that currently collaborates with Suzuki, and riders Rins and Mir, wants to remain in the paddock. The staff may move from the GSX-RR to the RC16 in 2023, with Alex a candidate to ride one of the bikes
According to the latest paddock rumour, team Ecstar wants to remain in MotoGP – and rightly so – and is looking around, considering that it will lose Suzuki support at the end of the year. Now that the Aprilia satellite team has been ruled out (never truly a possibility), the structure that currently works with the GSX-RR may move to the RC16.
The staff would therefore move away from the Hamamatsu manufacturer but not from MotoGP. And we hope this is the case, because they are all talented professionals. Two additional KTMs would be fielded by the Ecstar team then, with the possibility to ‘save’ Alex Rins. The Spaniard has been linked to various other rides, including the RNF Aprilia and the Gresini Ducati.
We will see if Ecstar takes delivery of the RC16 bikes. "One plus one is two” as they say. Two, or rather three, like the number of KTM teams in MotoGP in 2023. This market is really heating up and becoming increasingly complex, but interesting too.
