MotoGP 2023, Jack Miller and Ducati close to a renewal?

The Australian refutes claims of a possible move to the LCR team for 2023 while Davide Tardozzi comments on the market situation

There is still no concrete news as to the 2023 market, with teams and managers working behind the scenes and giving little to nothing away. Rumours circulated in the Portimao paddock that Jack Miller and the LCR team were talking about a possible collaboration, but then the Australian himself has refuted these claims, confirming his desire to remain at Ducati.

Miller’s letter of love to Ducati

The official motogp.com site reports his words, which leave no doubt: There have been no meetings of any kind with LCR”. The rider adds: “We haven’t discussed a move with anyone. We are only just entering into negotation season. We’ll take our time and evaluate the various options.” But his heart beats for the Borgo Panigale manufacturer: “I know the Ducati, I’ve been here for a while and know how things work here. I have a good home at Ducati, it would take some convincing for me to leave”. Miller has no doubts as to where he wants to continue his MotoGP career then, aboard the red bike that he’s been riding since 2018 and with which he’s scored his last two race wins.

The love is reciprocated

And Ducati itself confirms that it wants to keep Miller. After having confirmed Francesco Bagnaia at the start of the year for the 2023 and 2024 seasons, team manager Davide Tardozzi has now spoken about the Australian: We don’t want to lose Jack. We’ll see what happens in the coming weeks. I’m pleased that other teams are interested in Jack because it means we have a good rider. But we at Ducati are wanting to keep him". The idea is to continue to grow together, aiming ever higher, and now they will head to Jerez where they have great memories together.
