Valentino Rossi is preparing for his first official weekend as a car driver at the Imola circuit, the track that will host the opening round of the GT World Challenge Europe.

Valentino and four wheels

The Italian is ready to climb aboard his Audi R8, but before navigating the Santerno track, he had a long-distance chat with Lewis Hamilton during a virtual meeting hosted by the IWC company's YouTube channel.

“I’m really excited. A new adventure begins, a second chapter in my career at the wheel of a car”, said Rossi while talking to the Mercedes driver about his new beginning on four wheels. “When will I come to Formula 1? I’m too old I think”, replied the Doctor, when the Brit enquired about a possible move to Formula 1.

Rossi and the similarities between cars and bikes

A virtual chat in which Rossi explained that cars and bikes are more similar than one might think: The two disciplines are closely linked really. You often compete at the same tracks, and you have to reflect on where to break, how to set things up technically”, commented Valentino at the end of the online meeting.
