The Indonesian GP will take place in a little over a month, but there are modifications to be made before the top class returns to the track

The riders have returned home after a three-day test, during which they familiarised themselves with the new Mandalika track. Most of them like the overall layout, but there was also a degree of dissatisfaction, with issues being referred to the Safety Commission during the test itself. As a result, some modifications are to be made in agreement with the FIM, Dorna and the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC).

Promises to uphold

The two main areas of work involve cleaning the track surface and dealing with the excess gravel in certain sections. The Federation that oversees circuit homologation has decided together with the ITDC that the works will be carried out at least seven days before the GP, which is scheduled to take place on 20 March. In addition, work to resurface a piece of the track is already underway. Cutting-edge technology will be used to resurface the section that runs into turn 17 all the way to turn 5, to ensure that the entire surface meets MotoGP standards. Ready for the return of the world championship after a 25-year absence.
