MotoGP, official: Francesco Guidotti the new KTM Race Manager

The Italian leaves Pramac and marries the KTM cause, back in orange just as he was from 2006 to 2009. "KTM has always had ambitious plans, I’m pleased to play a part"

The news was already circulating but it’s now official. Following the departure of its Race Manager Mike Leitner, KTM has now confirmed that his successor will be Francesco Guidotti.

The former Pramac Team Manager is ready for a new challenge and will be tasked with helping the Austrian brand to take that last step towards the top of the category. This is actually a return for Guidotti, who already wore orange during the first four years of KTM exploits in the 125 and 250 classes.

Guidotti: “KTM is ambitious like no other manufacturer”

“I was a team manager for KTM from 2006-2009 and then took some valuable experience so now I am able to complete the circle!” comments Guidotti. KTM have always been very ambitious and hungry with their racing programs and we can see that MotoGP is no different; it is incredible what they have achieved in such a short time and there is still much we can do. I’m very happy to be back and part of this big push for more success.”

Pit Beirer, who continues at the helm of the KTM motorsport department, is also very pleased: We wanted to refresh the MotoGP management structure and we feel that Francesco’s input and ideas will give us some new momentum for our sixth season on the grid. With people like Francesco, Fabiano Sterlacchini, Hervé Poncharal, Jens Hainbach and Aki Ajo we know we have the best leadership to help us move ahead and make more MotoGP milestones for the company.”
