As the three classes compete at Silverstone, the planning of next season’s championship continues behind the scenes
The British GP has just begun at Silverstone, while the championship organiser Dorna has announced that there is a provisional pre-season test calendar ahead of the 2022 championship.
MotoGP will complete two official tests before the start of the season, plus the shakedown at the Sepang circuit, for test riders and rookies alone, on the 31 January-2 February. Then the rest of the riders will be back on their bikes on 5-6 February, again at the Malaysian track, and on 11-13 February at the new Indonesian track of Mandalika.
Dorna has also announced that the provisional date for round one of the 2022 season will be 6 March. The stage for the opening event will again be the Losail circuit in Qatar, the action taking place under the circuit’s floodlights.
