The Italian is optimistic ahead of the upcoming German GP, at a track he likes and that should also be good for the KTM
In his last two visits to the Sachsenring, in 2018 and 2019, Danilo Petrucci just missed out on the podium with a strong fourth-place finish. This weekend he’ll be back at the German track, with a different bike, or rather the KTM RC16, and he’s confident he can perform well during this eighth championship round.
Danilo himself admits: “I am very positive about Germany, because the Sachsenring is a track that I always liked and which suits me well, mainly because there are not many slow corners”. It might also suit his new steed and he adds: “It’s a small track, so we have no long straight, which makes it a bit easier for us”.
After recent test sessions at Barcelona, during which he also tested the new frame, “Petrux” aims to improve on the fifth-place finish he scored in France, his best result so far this season: “I think, we can be really fast there and it’s a good opportunity to show our progress this weekend”.
