SBK: first contact between Bradley Ray and the Motoxracing team

One of the most highly anticipated entries to the 2023 WorldSBK championship is undoubtedly Bradley Ray, a talented British rider as well as the current BSB champion, who won the title with the OMG Racing team’s Yamaha R1. And the Ashford native will line up in the production-derived championship with another Yamaha, fielded by Sandro Carusi’s Motoxracing team.

In the last few days, Ray visited the team’s HQ to be able to see the Race Department and bike with which he’ll compete, as well as get to know the various members of his new team. Bradley is clearly very enthusiastic, but will have to wait until 25-26 January before taking the SBK-configured R1 (a bike that differs from his BSB machine, in that it has no electronic aids) on track for the first test at Jerez.

Ray: “The team has exceeded my expectations”

“Joining a new team is always exciting but for me, stepping up to WorldSBK, I had no idea what to expect from today’s visit to the team’s HQ and I’m delighted to report that both the team facility and the team in general by far exceeded by expectations”, admits the 25-year old. “I thought I was excited before this visit about joining and racing for Motoxracing but now next season can’t start soon enough. I want to thank everyone for their efforts as they’ve given me a really warm welcome.”
