WorldSSP300: season over for Vicente Pérez Selfa

After standing out during the 2020 CIV Moto3 season, 2021 has proved extremely complicated for Spaniard Vicente Pérez Selfa who has struggled more than expected in the Supersport 300 world championship aboard team Machado’s Yamaha R3.

And the current season, which sees Pérez in 29th position in the general standings, now comes to a premature end for the rider, with injuries ruling him out of the final race weekends, Barcelona included. The number 21 rider has fractured two vertebrae and dislocated a shoulder, as he himself confirms on social media.

International debut for Facundo Llambías

"Unfortunately I won’t be at Barcelona this weekend, as I’ve fractured two vertebrae and dislocated my shoulder. I want to apologise to the team and all my sponsors", wrote a disappointed Vicente.

Taking his place on the team Machado R3 is Uruguayan rider Facundo Llambías, who will make his debut on the world stage, arriving from the ESBK Supersport 300 series in which he has competed with a Kawasaki this season. He will flank riders Niccolò Lisci and Ruben Bijman.
