WorldSBK, Joan Lascorz consultant to Ana Carrasco

Joan Lascorz returns to the SBK garage. ‘His’ garage. The former Spanish rider, who was forced to retire following a terrible accident at Imola in 2012, still loves the racing and will now be involved in a new and interesting way.

The 36-year old will be a consultant to fellow Spaniard Ana Carrasco, who rides the team Provec Kawasaki Ninja. Already in attendance at some of the pre-season tests, Lascorz and the ‘pink warrior’ have come to an agreement and will work together during the 2021 Supersport 300 championship.

Joan is pleased to return to his favourite environment: “I’m very excited – he says – I’ve never worked as a consultant, but I've already been on hand at the pre-season tests. The Provec team is fantastic, Ana is a great rider and I believe I can help her to fully express herself".

Everyone with Joan’s number 17

When he got injured, Joan's fans and colleagues were heartbroken for him. Knowing he was hurt and no longer able to race was upsetting for everyone. And so, as a sign of affection, rivals and friends and particularly the Provec team raced with a number 17 sticker on fairings, helmets, protective panels and mudguards.

Though many years have passed, it’s great to learn that Lascorz is now back, ready to work with Nico Sartori, Carrasco’s crew chief. Also with them is Carla Grau, who undertakes the role of manager and direct assistant to Ana. Once again, Kawasaki has shown that it knows exactly how to do things, in a smart and meaningful way.
