During the second special stage of the 2024 Dakar, Spanish rider Carles Falcón, competing for team Twin Trail Racing, was involved in a terrible incident. Immediately in a critical condition, he was taken to hospital, where he remained in a coma for almost a week before being transferred to Spain.
In an official press release, the team has now confirmed the news we hoped never to hear – Carles Falcón has lost his life. The medical team clarified that the neurological damage caused by the cardiac arrest the rider suffered at the time of the incident was irreversible. The only consolation is that the Spanish warrior died doing what he loved the most.
