Puig at risk: Brivio to Honda MotoGP?

Is Alberto Puig’s position in MotoGP at risk? It looks like it, considering the rumours that Davide Brivio is about to return to the motorcycle world. Would the Spaniard, who is linked to giant HRC, and particularly to Marc Marquez, be prepared to make room for the Italian manager? Because it seems that the parties are close to sealing a deal.

Brivio, from Yamaha to Suzuki and... Honda

If the Japanese manufacturer’s factory team were to opt for Brivio’s consultancy, we would see the return of a manager who has previous won MotoGP world titles with both Yamaha and Suzuki. Davide, currently involved in the Alpine Formula 1 project, would be back in the paddock that introduced him to the international world of two wheels.

The Italian actually started out in SBK, before switching from the production-derived bikes to the prototypes. The current dissatisfaction in the Honda camp, Marc Marquez’s departure, and the need to revolutionise the Repsol garage have had bosses, sponsors and managers working hard, with the aim of securing an Italian resource who has proved both successful and discreet. It was Brivio who snatched Valentino Rossi from Honda to deliver him to Yamaha.
