The British GP has just begun at Silverstone, while the championship organiser Dorna has announced that there is a provisional pre-season test calendar ahead of the 2022 championship.
The dates
MotoGP will complete two official tests before the start of the season, plus the shakedown at the Sepang circuit, for test riders and rookies alone, on the 31 January-2 February. Then the rest of the riders will be back on their bikes on 5-6 February, again at the Malaysian track, and on 11-13 February at the new Indonesian track of Mandalika.
The first 2022 round
Dorna has also announced that the provisional date for round one of the 2022 season will be 6 March. The stage for the opening event will again be the Losail circuit in Qatar, the action taking place under the circuit’s floodlights.
