New year, old problems. For Marc Marquez, 2021 begins with his slow recovery from an injury that continues to torment him. Honda has circulated a brief update as to the eight-time champion’s physical condition, which continues to gradually improve.
An improving situation, but his return remains shrouded in mystery
“Today Marc Márquez has gone to the Hospital Ruber Internacional for a medical check-up - reads the note - The eight-time world champion has visited six weeks after the surgery performed on December 3 for an infected pseudarthrosis of the right humerus. A satisfactory clinical and radiographic evolution has been confirmed for the time of evaluation. Marquez will continue with the specific antibiotic treatment and with a functional recovery programme adapted to his clinical situation”.
Very few words that confirm a clinical improvement but leave much open to evaluation and interpretation. We still have no time frame as to when we might see #93 back on track, and this looks to still be a way off, also considering the fact that the rider has appeared on his social media pages still wearing a brace.
